L. Douglas Wilder, 66th Governor of Virginia

Yesterday, I hosted the Jeff Katz Show on WRVA and was joined by guest Dr. Larry Sabato, director and founder of the Center of Politics at the University of Virginia.

I encourage you to listen to the interview and full program.

We discussed a variety of local and national issues, including the unprecedented, outrageous and extremely wasteful expenditures of nearly $100 million by VCU President Rao and the VCU Health system on a failed $500 million real estate deal.

Richmond BizSense broke this story and I spoke with them to share my concerns related to this gross misappropriation of taxpayer spending.

We both agreed that Governor Youngkin, as the chief executive officer of Virginia, has an obligation to investigate and account for this questionable use of state monies, as he was elected to be guardian of the people’s trust and provide candid transparency to issues of concern.

I especially enjoyed talking to the show’s callers. The people of Virginia are always ahead of the “leaders” and they will continue to articulate their views on the issues that impact their lives and community.

Furthermore, they fully demand and deserve transparency, integrity and accountability.

Stay tuned.
