Wilder 30th

I didn’t have to get to be 90 years old to know that I was a grandson of slaves.

But as we, again, observe Black History Month in the wake of recurring racism and overt examples of educational resegregation, we must do more than set aside a specified time, day or month to address America’s continued dilemma, as I’ve noted in this video.

That I was able to be elected to the single most powerful law making position in the state where our nation was founded, slavery was instituted, and a war was fought to preserve that inhumanity, feigned observances are meaningless.

Our nation needs leadership, our state needs leadership, every year, every month, every day.

The people demand it.

Stay tuned.
