I thank the many people who planned, participated in, and contributed to the observation of my 90th birthday.  There truly are no words to form the depth of my gratitude.
The many expressions received from people across the nation, especially young people, of all races and diverse backgrounds, fills me with an indescribable satisfaction.
During the past week, I have participated in several MLK events, including the one in which I was honored at my alma mater, Virginia Union University, receiving its first MLK Legacy Award.
In addition, I had the honor of being celebrated at a VCU Wilder School virtual celebration event.
I’ve always thought we could remove obstacles to achieve the fullest enjoyment of true citizenship.  Looking ahead, I know we can do more; and WE WILL.
Stay Tuned.
