Freedom has never been free. It has always depended on the courage, conviction, and sacrifice of those willing to defend it.

On this Veterans Day, we honor the men and women who have carried our nation’s banner across every field of battle and every mission of peace. From distant shores to our own communities, America’s veterans have stood watch to preserve the ideals that define us: liberty, justice, and equality for all.

Their service reminds us that the strength of this nation does not rest on its wealth or its weapons, but in the character of its people. They are the guardians of democracy, the ones who protect the rights and freedoms that too many take for granted.

As one who has proudly worn the uniform, I know the depth of that commitment. I have seen the devotion, discipline, and unity that military service instills, and I have carried those lessons with me throughout my life and service to this Commonwealth and our nation.

We must never forget that our veterans have done more than defend our borders; they have defined our values. They have shown us what it means to serve something greater than ourselves, to place honor, duty, and country above personal gain.

On this day, and every day, we give thanks for their courage, their sacrifice, and their example. Let us honor them not only with our words, but with our actions, by building a nation worthy of their service and sacrifice.

May we always remember that freedom endures because they stood ready to defend it. I remain profoundly grateful to all who have served and continue to serve.

Your courage continues to inspire us all.

Stay tuned.
