Yesterday, I joined Rich Herrera on WRVA to discuss continuing attacks on the leadership of Virginia Military Institute (VMI). General Cedric T. Wins’ contract is not being renewed by the current administration.
What has General Wins done wrong to warrant being treated differently?
I encourage you to listen to the full interview.
After a lengthy and expensive study highlighting the institutional racism at VMI, General Wins was charged by the Northam Administration with the responsibility to address pervasive racism and sexism that exist.
Are presidents of other colleges and universities being held to the same standard? The answer is “no.”
VCU President Michael Rao, who received a 16% raise and contract extension through 2030, has yet to account for the wasteful spending of more than $100 million in a failed real-estate deal at VCU Health.
Furthermore, despite a Joint Legislative and Audit Review Commission report that evaluated the shortcomings in leadership by VCU, VCU Health, and the Board of Visitors, no further actions have been taken by the Governor or legislature to address this gross waste of taxpayer dollars.
I call on Governor Youngkin to publicly address these issues.
Stay tuned.
