L. Douglas Wilder, 66th Governor of Virginia

The Richmond Times Dispatch recently reported that VCU leadership felt obligated to go along with predicted failed projects costing tens of millions of dollars — some say the figure could exceed $100 million. This reckless spending is extremely irresponsible and troubling and leaves many questions unanswered.

Why does President Rao feel obligated to accommodate Mayor Stoney, as stated by his adviser?

Where did the “pay off money” come from?

If Rao’s General Counsel for the Health Authority quit, who was providing the legal advice? Who provided legal advice to the Board of Visitors?

What were the conflicts of interest as reported by the investigating law firm?

The people are entitled to know and demand answers to these simple, but essential questions.

Stay tuned.
