L. Douglas Wilder, 66th Governor of Virginia

This day is a stark reminder of America’s continuing search for itself. The sacrifices made on that day and the pursuit of our attackers show how we can come together.

I have been fortunate to have been, and continue so to be, a part of that search.

As much as things seem to change, there is always the constant rejoinder epitomized by Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar”. Cassius intoned, “the fault dear Brutus lies not in our stars, but in ourselves.”

America’s greatness is determined by those who have that selfless dedication to overcome whatever difficulties, foreseen or not.

Making right what’s wrong for ALL of America’s people is our quest to bring us together.

Our leadership should never swerve, never forget. Quantity does not equate to quality.
“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.”

We have a duty to remind those who do forget that we can do better, and we will. If not, the fault is ours.

Stay tuned.
