Understanding the operations of national, state, and local government is required in fiscal management, education, health, housing, crime, transportation, the environment, and the list goes on.
Those of us, who don’t demand that our leaders articulate their positions on the issues that affect us, are at fault. That government which is closest to the people is that which affects them the most. The people are entitled to share in that knowledge and participate fully. Government should be of the people, by the people, and for the people.
