Today, the members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity celebrate the founding of our fraternity. These stalwarts were indeed visionary to recognize the cardinal principles of manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift.
I know what it meant for me as a 17-year-old to be initiated into a brotherhood of caring individuals at Virginia Union University, when the world around me was indifferent to my aspirational advancement in life. It furthered what had been instilled in me at home; the high possibility of the individual.
