On Friday, January 7, I joined Jeff Katz, WRVA, to discuss the forthcoming gubernatorial transition in Virginia.
I reflected on my own perspectives as an incoming governor, including inheriting a state debt of approximately $2.5 billion. I emphasized the need for Governor-elect Youngkin to maintain and strengthen his relationships with the people of Virginia, which was a key priority for success in my office.
We discussed how the election results in November were a direct reflection of this need to have a strong relationship with the people and to best carry out their interests. I also addressed the challenges and legacy of outgoing Governor Northam.
