When government, of, by, and for the people, works for ALL, we are that much closer to the promise, “to form a more perfect union.” Until then, the creed and fulfillment of the Constitution which includes all people, cannot be complete.
The Wilder School continues to address the issues of race and racism in our Commonwealth, and across the country. We have been recognized in the U.S. News & World Report rankings which include our #38 ranking, top 15%, of graduate schools of public affairs in the country. We are the only school in VA with rankings in Social and Public Policy. Our initiative, Research Institute of Social Equity (RISE), demonstrates that our school is advocating for the need to address systemic and institutional racism in meaningful ways, throughout the Commonwealth and beyond.
As a part of our commitment to education, community engagement, and recognizing the exemplary leadership of those serving our communities, particularly, the unsung heroes, I invite you to join us virtually on Thursday, April 15, 2021 for our “Excellence in Virginia Government Awards (EVGA). Dean Susan Gooden’s op-ed, published today in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, conveys the importance of the work that we do at the Wilder School and the appreciation we have for the dedicated individuals and organizations that will be recognized for their tireless efforts in serving the people.
Stay tuned.
