Fifty years ago I was elected to the Virginia Senate. I entered public office because I wanted to represent the people and their interests and to provide equal opportunity for all. That tenure extended to my being elected as Lt. Governor and ultimately Governor of our Commonwealth, 30 years ago.
Join us on Thursday, March 26, for a day-long leadership symposium at Virginia Union University, in partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University’s Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. We will discuss judicial and legislative history, civic engagement, leadership, and the 2020 elections.
I am looking forward to expressing the continuing need to listen to the people and to demand what is right and to criticize what is wrong.
