I had a most enjoyable time yesterday speaking with the students at John Handley High School in Winchester, Virginia.

Their interest and questions demonstrated the value of civics being taught in our schools at the earliest possible time.

As I stated in a recent Wilder Visions post, “civic instruction must be a priority” and it was fully displayed by the leadership in Winchester.

WINCHESTER — Former Virginia Gov. L. Douglas Wilder was adamant when he spoke to Handley High School students on Tuesday morning that they “demand what is right,” whether it’s by running for office or checking off a box in the voting booth.
